Meet Our Club Director: Why Your Child Will Thrive in After School Care at Boston Boys & Girls Club

If you’re a parent at Boston K–8 School in Aurora, you know how important it is to find safe, affordable after-school care that not only supports your child but helps them thrive. That’s exactly what the Boston Boys & Girls Club provides—an after-school program located right on your child’s campus, making it one of the most convenient and trusted after-school programs in Aurora.

And at the center of it all is someone families know and love: Club Director Cynthia Duron. Cynthia is truly the heartbeat of the Boston Club. Every afternoon, her favorite moment is greeting kids as they walk through the door—backpacks bouncing; stories ready to spill out. That daily check‑in isn’t just routine for her; it’s the foundation of the safe, welcoming environment she’s created. Her connection with members can be felt in every room of the Club, from the art tables to the homework stations to the gym.

Warm, enthusiastic, and deeply committed to her community, Cynthia is one of the biggest reasons families trust the Boston Club as a place where their kids can learn, grow, and belong.

Meet Cynthia

Cynthia has been part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver since 2019, but her journey with young people started long before she ever stepped inside a Club. She joined the organization as an Art Specialist, helping kids tap into their creativity and discover new ways to express themselves. Today, she proudly leads the Boston Boys & Girls Club as its Director—bringing both heart and experience to her role as an experienced youth mentor and trusted after‑school leader.

“I’m the oldest among my siblings and cousins, so caring for kids has always been a big part of my life. Being around kids comes naturally to me,” she shared. “Watching them learn, grow, and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding, and I’ve always loved being someone they can rely on.”

For Cynthia, leading the Boston Club isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. She works intentionally to create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where every child feels seen and supported. Whether she’s helping a student tackle homework, cheering them on in the gym, or encouraging them to try something new, her passion for youth development shows up in every part of the Club.

“I hope the kids remember they always had at least one adult who was there for them. Someone who listened, supported them, and encouraged them to try new things and grow.”

At the Boston Boys & Girls Club, Cynthia is building exactly that—a place where kids feel cared for, confident, and ready to reach their full potential.

What Makes This Club Special

For many families, finding affordable after‑school care that is both safe and enriching can feel overwhelming. That’s why the Boston Boys & Girls Club is such a remarkable resource—it gives kids a nurturing, reliable place to go every afternoon, and it’s right where they already are.

Because the Club is located inside Boston K–8 School, the transition from the classroom to a safe space for kids couldn’t be easier. There’s no need to worry about transportation, long commutes, or juggling schedules. Kids simply walk down the hall and enter a place designed to support their growth, curiosity, and confidence.

Once inside, they’re welcomed into a world of high‑quality enrichment programs for children that help them discover their interests and build new skills:

  • Academic support from caring staff who help with homework, encourage good study habits, and celebrate school success
  • STEM and arts programs that spark creativity and inspire kids to ask questions, build things, and express themselves
  • Sports and fitness activities that keep them active, healthy, and energized
  • Leadership and character‑building opportunities that teach responsibility, communication, and teamwork
  • Mental health support from mentors who listen, check in, and help kids develop strong coping skills

And that’s just the start.

Every afternoon, kids also receive a warm meal, plenty of encouragement, and a community that allows them to show up exactly as they are. Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do—scholarships are available, and no documentation is required; ensuring cost is never a barrier for families.

By offering extended hours until 6 p.m. on school days, full days during the summer, and highly affordable programs with need-based scholarships, we make sure every child at Boston K-8 School has access to quality care—no documentation required.
