On July 19. 2022, Erin Porteous, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver was named one of 30 women to win the title of “Outstanding Women in Business”

DENVER, COLORADO, July 20, 2022 – Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver (BGCMD) is proud to announce that Erin Porteous, the organization’s CEO of five years, has been recognized by Denver Business Journal (DBJ) as an Outstanding Woman in Business. Through a rigorous screening process, DBJ has selected 30 of Denver’s most accomplished business women. The honorees are selected based on their innovation, entrepreneurship, professional accomplishments, and community leadership.

Porteous is the first female to serve as CEO in Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver’s 60-year history and is proud to “serve as a model for girls and young women who want to run the world someday.” She began her journey with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver in 2006 and has held leadership positions in Special Events, Marketing, and Development. Under her leadership, the organization has grown to serve nearly 18,000 kids in 21 Clubs across Metro Denver each year.

While many organizations throughout the world struggled to keep their doors open during the global pandemic in 2020, Porteous fought to keep Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver stable and retain all staff. Most importantly, she worked to ensure that all Club kids had consistent access to free meals, mental health support, academic support, and friends throughout the pandemic. Porteous states that she is “extremely proud that Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is one of the only organizations currently serving the same number of kids now as we were prior to the pandemic.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver congratulates the 30 exceptional women who are receiving DBJ’s Outstanding Women in Business award this year. Porteous and her fellow honorees will be recognized for their outstanding achievement Thursday, August 18, 2022 at DCPA’s Seawall Ballroom in downtown Denver.
