Read Across America Day

Celebrating Read Across America Day in our Clubs

Reading opens doors to new worlds, big ideas, and endless possibilities. At our Clubs, that magic comes to life every day. Whether it’s a kindergartener sounding out their very first words, a middle schooler getting hooked on a new series, or a teen discovering a role model in the pages of a biography, each story sparks curiosity and builds confidence. Every page turned is a step toward a brighter future.

As we celebrate Read Across America Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible reading achievements of our Club members—and wow, do we have something to celebrate. This past fall, kids and teens across all 25 of our Metro Denver Clubs read a remarkable 20,418 books. And so far this spring, our Club kids have read 10,665 books!

That’s thousands of adventures explored, questions asked, imaginations sparked, and dreams inspired. And most importantly—it’s a reminder of just how powerful reading can be when kids have the support, encouragement, and space to grow.

Now that is something worth cheering for.

As we celebrate Read Across America Day, we’re reminded just how powerful a single story can be. Every time a young reader finds a book they love, they gain confidence, curiosity, and a spark that can last a lifetime. Together, we’re helping kids discover new possibilities—one book, one story, and one bright future at a time.

Our Literacy Programs, Accelerated Reader and MyON, encourage kids to read regularly, widely, and year-round. Kids track their progress and are rewarded for their participation. These programs allow them to read at their reading level and make regular progress toward their literacy goals.
