Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver hosts event to celebrate $50,000 Cope teen center renovation from Lowe’s

WHAT:  The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver’s William E. Cope Club (808 Inca St.) is hosting “first look” special event where guests can attend the reveal of the facility’s brand-new Teen Center. The Cope Boys & Girls Club has one of our highest teen populations, serving between 40-60 teenagers per day. The newly renovated Teen Center features everything from new lighting, furniture and flooring to technology upgrades including a TV, computer stations, and updated teen-centric décor. For more than 200 Club members, ages 6-18, walking in and out of the Club daily, this transformed Teen Lounge will serve to inspire valuable focus on cultivating meaningful relationship among peers and post high school endeavors.
The Cope Boys & Girls Club is located within the city’s most diverse community so when the organization received notice of the $50,000 grant from Lowe’s, they recognized a great opportunity to expand and upgrade the Club’s Teen Center. The new facility will provide Club members with a safe space to spend out-of-school time with specialized programming designed to prepare for great futures.
WHY: Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Lowe’s have teamed up for a $2.5 million Renovation Across the Nation initiative to strengthen and revitalize one Club in all 50 states. The William E. Cope Boys & Girls Club was the one Club selected for the state of Colorado receiving an exciting $50,000 grant from Lowe’s to ensure it remains a safe and inviting place for area youth who need it most.
