DENVER, April 24, 2026<\/span><\/b>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Sixty-five\u00a0years ago, kids lined up overnight outside a small Denver Boys\u00a0Club;\u00a0some wrapped in sleeping bags, waiting for a membership card. They\u00a0weren\u2019t\u00a0chasing entertainment \u2014 they were seeking a place where they felt seen, safe, and supported.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That belief still drives Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver today.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 25, community and business leaders will gather at the Hyatt Regency Denver for the organization\u2019s 2026 Gala:\u00a0Treasuring the Journey, celebrating 65 years of\u00a0supporting youth\u00a0and raising critical funds to meet the growing needs of kids and teens across the metro area.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Suncor Energy U.S.A. returns as the Presenting Sponsor of the gala, continuing a\u00a0nearly\u00a0two-decade\u00a0partnership that has invested more than $5 million in local youth. Suncor\u2019s support began with\u00a0after<\/span>\u2011school\u00a0programming at Commerce City\u2019s Kearney Middle School and expanded to help\u00a0establish\u00a0the Suncor Boys & Girls Club\u2014providing a stable, welcoming environment where young people build confidence, connection, and skills for the future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"We are incredibly grateful for Suncor\u2019s unwavering commitment to our Club kids and our mission,\u201d said Erin Porteous, Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. \"Their sponsorship of this vital fundraising event provides Denver\u2019s youth with the resources and support they need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver serves about\u00a02,500 kids each day across 25 Clubs, including neighborhood Clubs\u00a0and\u00a0school-based\u00a0sites. As demand for safe, enriching spaces continues to rise, funding from the gala supports academic success, workforce readiness, and\u00a0social emotional\u00a0development during the critical hours when kids are not in school.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
