Denver, CO - February 26, 2024<\/span><\/b> - Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is excited to announce its participation in Read Across America Day, celebrating the joy of reading and its transformative power in young lives. This annual tradition encourages communities nationwide to come together to highlight the power of reading. This year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is joining in the celebration by showcasing its dedication to fostering a love for literature among Club members.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver\u2019s literacy programs are designed to ensure every kid and teen can thrive. Innovative tools like MyOn, Accelerated Reader, and Lalilo are used to support early literacy and track progress, with additional support from partners like Hopkins Education Services to boost confidence and improve learning outcomes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Club members receive continued academic support all year long through programs intentionally designed to foster skill-building and spark a passion for reading at each grade level. The impact of these programs is clearly visible through the success stories of the youth they serve. According to data collected during the 2022-2023 school year National Youth Outcomes Initiative Survey 83% of Club members who engaged in literacy programming built and enhanced their skills in reading comprehension and Club members read 28,228 books.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"At the Club, I love witnessing kids discover their passion for reading as they immerse themselves in new books and strive to reach higher reading goals,\" expressed Regina Martinez-Gonzalez, the Academics and Leadership Manager at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. \"Here at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, we actively involve all our members in reading initiatives, helping them achieve new reading milestones and explore both themselves and the world around them.\"<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This Read Across America Day, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver invites everyone to celebrate the joy of reading and acknowledge its transformative impact on the lives of kids and teens nationwide. By nurturing a love for literature, the organization empowers the next generation to become confident, compassionate, and informed individuals who will shape a brighter future for us all.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
