When you donate to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, you can reduce your taxes through the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit. Cash donations to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit, which decreases the after-tax cost of gifts by more than 50%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Half of your donation will be offset by a dollar-for-dollar credit against your Colorado income taxes. You will still be able to claim your full contribution as a charitable deduction on your federal and state income tax returns if you itemize deductions.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting in 2026<\/strong>, your Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit certificate (DR-1317) will be mailed each January for the prior tax year. If you make a gift in 2026, you will receive your DR-1317 form in January 2027. The certificate will confirm the total amount you donated that is eligible for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit.<\/p>\n

Donors may enter their Social Security number on the form after it is received from Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver.<\/p>\n

GUIDELINES:<\/h3>\n

  • The maximum credit you may take in any one year is $100,000 or your actual Colorado income tax liability for the year, whichever is less.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Any unused credit may be carried forward for up to five additional tax years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Only monetary donations are eligible. Stock or other securities and in-kind gifts, such as labor or equipment, are not eligible but may qualify for other tax benefits.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • In the case of donations associated with events, only the deductible portion of your payment, reduced by the value of goods and services received, is eligible. You will be advised of the net amount eligible for the credit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Both individuals and corporations can take advantage of the credit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
